Nestled on the Gulf of Aqaba, Dahab is one of the oldest and most famous dive areas in the Red Sea offering some of the most exciting and spectacular diving holidays in Egypt. Dahab (it means ‘gold’ in Arabic) was named for its golden beaches and it has a character all of its own that’s reflected in the hotels and accommodation of the area. Dahab is smaller and quieter and attracts a more ‘alternative’ and younger crowd than Sharm el Sheikh for example. Diving holidays in Egypt don’t get much better than Dahab with gentle reef slopes and coral gardens for beginners to more challenging sites such as the Blue Hole or the Canyon.
